Saksham
Saksham
Saksham, founded in 2003 by Mr. Dipendra Manocha and Ms. Rummi K. Seth, is a nationally recognized NGO committed to empowering individuals with visual impairments and low vision. With a strong belief in the potential of every individual, Saksham works towards creating an inclusive society where visual disability is not a barrier to growth, learning, or independence.
Operating across Punjab, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh, Saksham has made remarkable contributions in inclusive education, accessible reading material, and assistive technology. Dedicated schools in Noida and Jalandhar, the launch of over 100 assistive tools, and the creation of platforms like Sugamya Pustakalaya stand as milestones in its journey.
In 2012, Saksham Punjab was established to strengthen these efforts regionally. It focuses on developing accessible educational content, integrating assistive devices in learning, training teachers, and promoting technology that supports independent living. Through workshops, advocacy campaigns, and collaborative efforts, Saksham Punjab continues to raise awareness and build a more understanding and inclusive society.
