Ludhiana Cares Ladies Society
Ludhiana Cares Ladies Society was registered in 2015.
Around 90 ladies from different backgrounds including doctors, CAs, bankers, homemakers and industrialists have come together to bring about a change in our city/ society.
After working on ground since 2012, we have worked extensively on waste management awareness and makeovers of different parks in Ludhiana. Transformation of Civil Hospital grounds has been our major accomplishment.
LCLS has also carried on extensive plantation drives. Recently we planted 2 micro forests along with Eco Sikh.
Presently our main focus area is to send rag pickers children to nearby Govt Schools.
We have adopted the following strategy to help us achieve results :
In the mornings we run an Aaganwadi class wherein we teach basic hygiene & make sure children attend school daily so that the mothers don't take these young children rag picking. We teach and feed these children and have got their Aadhar cards made so that they are prepared for the coming session in Govt Schools.
In the afternoon/ evening we run classes for the children we have enrolled into Govt Schools ( classes 1-8) over the past few years. We have employed teachers but attendance of our NGO members is also compulsory daily. We teach basic grammar, phonetics & maths in addition to their school work.
