When 16 years old Kirandeep from a village of Punjab began her journey, society considered her to be an insignificant child with special needs.
She born in a poor family with a sister and one brother and it is quite difficult for her father to manage as he is a daily wager.
“I wanted to support my daughter who is good in sports but due to my financial conditions, I am not able to get my daughter a Racing Bicycle with kit of Helmet, Kneecap and Gloves” said Kashmir Singh (Father of Kirandeep).
Kirandeep Kaur was admitted to Samagra Siksha Abhiyan under Inclusive Education for Differently Abled (IED) under State Government wherein her coach Harjeet Singh recognized her skills in sports and motivated her to participate in cycling.
“Her interest in the sport taken a step further after she was selected in Punjab for cycling. She will represent Punjab in Nationals at Jharkhand. If selected, she will represent India in World Special Olympiad at Berlin, Germany” said her coach Harjeet Singh
The total cost of Racing Cycle with Kit is Rs. 25,000.
