Ajit always wanted to have a big family. So when Jasmeet was born in 2009, he was the happiest man in the world! But life was cruel -after just one year, Jasmeet was falling ill every day. Doctors diagnosed her with Thalassemia, a condition where body stops producing blood. They said that she will need regular blood transfusions for the rest of her life. Ajit was barely managing to arrange it when his world was again shattered- his baby son was also diagnosed with Thalassemia. With income of only Rs 14000, Ajit tried but failed to arrange money for his baby.. and his 7 months old son was lost forever. But before he could even grieve, suddenly Jasmeet’s health also became worse. In those tough years, NGO Zindagi Live helped them - Jasmeet was able to get blood transfusions to survive.
BUT due to constant hospital visits, Jasmeet’s childhood is not like normal girls. Her body is always weak and tired after even daily activities. Plus, every blood transfusion has a risk of infections which can put her already delicate body in danger.
Ajit is terrified of losing her just like he lost his son years ago. There’s only one way to bring back her normal life- a Bone Marrow Transplant. Luckily, Jasmeet’s sister is a perfect donor match.
